Mesotherapy is used to treat back, neck, and muscular pain. It consists of multiple small needles which are placed underneath the skin (intradermal) in the sore area. Through these needles various anti-inflammatory substances are injected. The nerve fibers that are treated at this level under the skin transmit pain input to deeper structures in that same area, so treatment here has a much deeper effect thus often resulting in resolution of pain that goes much deeper than where the needles themselves are placed.
